Aqaba is Jordan's only coastal city and the natural starting point for the south: Wadi Rum is about an hour away, Petra roughly two hours up the Desert Highway, and the beaches and dive sites of the South Coast are a ten-minute drive from the centre.

Pickup can be arranged at King Hussein International Airport, at your hotel along the South Beach road, or in the city centre near the corniche. Because summer temperatures regularly pass 40°C, every car we list has working air conditioning as standard.

If you are flying into Amman and out of Aqaba (or the other way round), ask for a one-way rental when you book — most of our suppliers allow it between the two cities for a fixed fee shown at checkout.
